ITRINS TRANSLATIONS LTD trading as Samoan Translations International is a New Zealand GST registered Service. Tax is zero-rated for international customers, but it is added to Local costs of services. We offer competitive ratings with reasonable discounts depending on the nature and the volume of each assignment.

 

We charge per hour of our WORKING time. We will charge $55 of admin time for processing large volumes of recording where we are required to assess carefully for quality to provide you with a "fixed quote", it takes time. Often, we must download, convert, and rename a lot of files due to general or common names.

$65 per 15mins of transcription time for General: That is equivalent to four (4) hours to transcribe one hour of clear audio and speech between two people, standard format. Anything other than straight transcription will take longer. Please make your requirements clear when enquiring or placing an order. We will provide you with an “estimate” quote; or a “fixed” quote upon receipt of audio to be transcribed. We are flexible, so have a chat with us.

NOTE: 1 hour of clear audio = 4 hours of transcribing and translation is separate, please refer below. Normal turnaround time is within 48hours for less than 1 hour of audio/video. More than one hour will take extra working days.

$75 per 15mins of transcription time - Medical and Legal – English-Samoa: We charge per 15 minutes of our time for all work carried out. At our discretion, we will charge a fee for short dictations, reports, letters, etc. Recordings containing a lot of specialist terminology in any field or industry - the above rate applies. We will advise upon receipt and assessment of the same.

$85 per 15mins of transcription time - Afterhours, weekends, public holidays: If meeting your deadline requires us to work afterhours, weekends, or holidays, we charge the above rate per hour of our time. Please let us know what your requirements are, and your expectations for turnaround. We are flexible and are experts at juggling. We are happy to offset some of the cost with great discounts for sizeable volumes. Ask us.

$95 per 15mins of transcription time - Urgent, fast-tracked transcription services: We provide urgent, fast-tracked transcription services with a turnaround of 48 hours. We receive a lot of urgent orders, some all at the same time. Often, we are working into the night until early hours in the morning, to complete orders.

Normal translation rate @ $0.35 and $0.40 per word for Commercial jobs - Translation Service for transcription documents – English to Samoan or vice versa: Costing for translation is based on the source document word count including format, proofreading, reviewing, and urgent nature of the job. Normal translation rate = NZ$0.35/word + GST or NZ$0.50/word plus GST for Urgent Requests (i.e. within 24 Hrs turnaround time for Urgent Jobs [<1000words count] & normal turnaround time is within 48hrs or more depending on volume and technicality).

$135 per hour - Interpreting Services: Site Interpreting Rates: $135 per hour for the entire period booked, including lunch breaks + GST + MILEAGE & PARKING. This charge applies to all jobs with more than one-hour of duration. Minimum payment of $155 per assignment + GST + MILEAGE & PARKING. Parking charges: Interpreter Parking receipts can be provided for proof if necessary. Mileage: Total return mileage from the interpreter's home OR Itrins Translations Ltd Office (calculated from the Google Maps website) will be reimbursed at the IRD-approved rate, currently $0.95c / km. public transport at cost, receipts required. Public transport does not include taxis, which require court approval beforehand. Parking (parking receipt amounts will already include GST).

Cancellation fees apply if the appointment is cancelled within 24 hours: If the assignment is cancelled within 48 hours of commencement, a cancellation fee of $155 per job or $135 per hour for the entire period booked + GST applies. If after the assignment has started and ended early or the Court or client reduces the interpreter hours, $135 per hour + GST for the entire period booked will be charged.

SITE interpreters are available between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm during weekdays. After-hours rate of $165 per 1-hour job + GST applies after 5pm – 7:30 am OR $145 per hour entire period booked, including lunch breaks + GST + MILEAGE & PARKING.
